Southern Wisconsin’s newest community, recreation and historical center has found a new home in the thriving village of Cottage Grove, just east of Wisconsin’s capital city, Madison.
Madison United Rugby (MUR) has invested more than $3 million dollars in developing the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex. With a focus on community, commerce, and competition, MUR plans to build a year-round facility open for public use.
In less than 10 years, the WRSC has grown into one of the nation’s top rugby facilities, hosts other local athletic events, and is an economic driver for the surrounding region generating millions of dollars of commercial and community benefits.
Building the Dream
Our non-profit organization Madison United Rugby, with support from regional community and business partners, is launching an intensive fundraising effort in 2016 to build our Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex building.
The capital campaign seeks to raise $4 million for the building itself with an additional $1-2 million for complex improvements.
Clubhouse By 2020
The dream of the Sports Complex and its building, known as the Clubhouse to our local rugby community, is being driven by our dynamic alumni family.
For rugby alumni interested in joining the effort, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Transformational Collaborations In The Community
Looking beyond rugby, MUR is building a much-needed facility that will provide a community and cultural center in Cottage Grove and the greater Dane County region to fulfill our organizational mission through three key goals:
- Strengthen Education
- Support innovative health, wellness and community services through mutually beneficial collaborations
- Provide a regional economic stimulus through the three pillars of Sports Tourism
